The Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex is poised to grow by over 50% by 2040 according to the Dallas Business Journal. Forecasted population growth over just the next 10 years will require the addition of more than 27,000 new rental units per year! DFW will add over 1.4M new residents by 2025, or more than 540,000 new households, based on the current average household size in DFW.
Where will DFW come up with the required new capacity? That, fellow investors, is the $64M question. New construction peaked last year at less than the 27,000 required units and the vast majority of the new units that were constructed were in the exclusive Class A space.
Short-term and long-term, the DFW market is an investor’s market for multifamily. Learn more about investing in multifamily real estate with Mara Poling.
